The ARM Linux package runs very well on a Raspberry Pi of any flavour.
The first stage rebuild currently needs an x86 box as the cross compiler chassis has not been converted yet to run on ARM. The end of the first stage build script just copies the kernel binary to the Raspberry Pi.
